The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not Want

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

The picture of the Lord being our Shepherd, and we the sheep, should really bring comfort to our souls. Christ is the ultimate Shepherd who laid down His very life for the safety of our souls. To "want" means that one is lacking something in their life, to have unmet needs. Christ Himself is the eternal need of every soul, through Him all of our needs have already been met.
