Pharaoh spoke kindly to Jacob, in the traditional GREETING custom, asking after their well being, THIS was a time consuming custom. THAT is why in Luke 10:3-5 it is said, 'greet no one', but hurry. Jacob blessed Pharaoh AGAIN when he was ready to leave. This was very appropriate: the pharaoh had been kind and generous to his family and him, and God always directs us to do the right thing.
