13 Thus says the Lord,
"For three transgressions of the sons of aAmmon and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they bripped open the pregnant women of Gilead In order to cenlarge their borders.

1 Concerning the sons of aAmmon. Thus says the Lord:
"Does Israel have no sons?
Or has he no heirs? Why then has Malcam taken possession of Gad And his people settled in its cities?
2 "Therefore behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord,
"That I will cause a atrumpet blast of war to be heard
Against bRabbah of the sons of Ammon; And it will become a desolate heap, And her ctowns will be set on fire. Then Israel will take dpossession of his possessors," Says the Lord.
3 "Wail, O aHeshbon, for bAi has been destroyed!
Cry out, O daughters of Rabbah,
cGird yourselves with sackcloth and lament, And rush back and forth inside the walls; For Malcam will dgo into exile Together with his priests and his princes.
4 "How aboastful you are about the valleys!
Your valley is flowing away,
O bbacksliding daughter Who trusts in her ctreasures, saying, 'dWho will come against me?'
5 "Behold, I am going to bring aterror upon you,"
Declares the Lord GOD of hosts,
"From all directions around you; And each of you will be bdriven out headlong, With no one to gather the cfugitives together.
28 "And you, son of man, prophesy and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD concerning the sons of Ammon and concerning their areproach,' and say: 'A sword, a sword is drawn, polished for the slaughter, to cause it to bconsume, that it may be like lightning--
29 while they see for you afalse visions, while they divine lies for you--to place you on the necks of the wicked who are slain, whose day has come, in the btime of the punishment of the end.
30 'aReturn it to its sheath. In the bplace where you were created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you.
31 'I will apour out My indignation on you; I will bblow on you with the fire of My wrath, and I will give you into the hand of brutal men, cskilled in destruction.
32 'You will be afuel for the fire; your blood will be in the midst of the land. You will bnot be remembered, for I, the Lord, have spoken.'"
3 and say to the sons of Ammon, 'Hear the word of the Lord GOD! Thus says the Lord GOD, "Because you said, 'aAha!' against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into exile,
4 therefore, behold, I am going to give you to the asons of the east for a possession, and they will set their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they will beat your fruit and drink your milk.
5 "I will make aRabbah a pasture for camels and the sons of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Thus you will know that I am the Lord."
6 'For thus says the Lord GOD, "Because you have aclapped your hands and stamped your feet and brejoiced with all the scorn of your soul against the land of Israel,
7 therefore, behold, I have astretched out My hand against you and I will give you for bspoil to the nations. And I will ccut you off from the peoples and dmake you perish from the lands; I will destroy you. Thus you will eknow that I am the Lord."
8 "I have heard the ataunting of Moab
And the brevilings of the sons of Ammon,
With which they have taunted My people And cbecome arrogant against their territory.
9 "Therefore, as I live," declares the Lord of hosts,
The God of Israel,
"Surely aMoab will be like bSodom And the sons of cAmmon like dGomorrah-- A place possessed by nettles and salt pits, And a perpetual desolation. The remnant of My people will eplunder them And the remainder of My nation will inherit them."
