Though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death

Psalms 23:4 NKJV

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

The Christian has nothing to fear in death. Death's stinger has been permanently removed. The powerful message this verse conveys to us is that those of us who trust in God will not experience literal death, but a mere shadow. Sure our bodies will one day shut down, but the apostle Paul says "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". What a hope we have in Jesus. He is our great Shepherd as this Psalm clearly illustrates for us. He's a Shepherd who will go to the greatest lengths to rescue just one of His lost sheep. Rest assured, we are in good hands.
