I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth."

God chose to make a covenant w ppl. Never again destroy all humanity w a flood. The rainbow, the sign of the covenant.
Double rainbow outside the window of the Root Cellar dinner last night, after pretty devastating flooding in parts of Lou. All humanity was not destroyed.
