James

Chapter 4

11 aDo not speak against one another, bbrethren. He who speaks against a brother or cjudges his brother, speaks against dthe law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not ea doer of the law but a judge of it.
James 4:11 NASB
Peter Sylvester's Note
Nov 15
It is easy to get in the habit of finding fault with those around us. Criticism puts us in the place of judgment. When we criticize a fellow believer, we are sinning against them and God. Only God can judge because he knows the heart and He sees everything. James makes it very clear that our job is to walk in obedience to God. For most of us, that will keep us busy enough. If we focus our energy on encouraging our brothers and sisters in Christ, and being obedient to the Lord, we won’t have much time for criticism. In a world that loves to criticize and judge, God has called us to be a people of love and encouragement.
