It is amazing to me how that many wise commentators seem averse to believing what God's word has to say about this subject. It's as if having seen certain men struggle with tragedy or lack they refuse to believe that God meant what He said about such things. But it is better to always believe God and doubt men than the other way around. It is true that The Lord allows trials in order to strengthen and perfect us but in general His plan is plain.
