Chapter 3

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

I imagine that if the tree had more than one fruit woman didn't even bother to search for the best fruit because the one that was nearest held the most promise to her in that moment. She chose the easiest route to what she wanted and her deception began long before the serpent appeared because she was in the vicinity of the temptation when he appeared.
