The doomed Lucifer, remained within the serpent to watch the wrath because he probably expected God to do more than this to man and woman! The serpent, was a vehicle used by Lucifer to present himself to man in the physical form. Being an angelic being, he was at that time subject to man. A major victory was won here but woe to the snake for being the doomed container of the fallen spirit. We cannot assume that every snake is in bodily form the devil!
