Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Our confession must be totally genuine. It must be a confession of faith and not of unbelief. It is what you believe in that you confess with. Genuine discipleship always involves acknowledging Jesus Christ, whether we face pressure or being persecuted. We must stand firm with the faith we have in Him.
