The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

True, God created the Earth, but without life it is formless and empty.
This reminds me how I am created by God but without Jesus (the way, the truth and the life, John 14:6), I am dark, formless and empty.
