And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

Nothing belongs to me that doesn't belong it God. I am not entitled to whatever I "have". Authority over living animals was not mine, but God given.
Did we deserve it? We did nothing to garner authority.
I worship a God of grace.
