Ephesians

Chapter 4

1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.
2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.
Ephesians 4:1-6 NLT

Jon drake 2/9/14- eph 4:3 keeping the unity I. The new community. Guard it from being fractured. Church should be united in worthy living- what is beneficial- reveals what you treasure most in life. Phil 1:27 Church would be united through conflict- peace of Jesus ruled and reigned. Peace is not absence of conflict bit the bond that held them together through conflict. Friction is good. United within diversity- God himself is a description of unity- 3 in 1. Church should reflect the nature of God. United around the gospel- more exclusive or inclusive than God made it. Gal1:8 , 2cor11:4 God is glorified when his church is unified. He wants us unified for the sake of the mission. Jesus the head o the body cares about unity john17:20-23
