- POWER - desire to be respected, followed, recognized
- CONTROL - desire to have everything according to our plan
- COMFORT - desire for pleasure
- APPROVED - desire to be accepted
2 Jesus tell us to follow him to find everything we need
- Following our hearts leads to death; following Jesus leads to life and abundance
