I just finished reading the first 5 books of the Old Testament and have read the first 3 gospel books along with Hebrews. I must say that I have gotten the sense that the LORD has a lot of love for Israel. Jesus was a Jew that had supernatural power but angered God’s chosen people so he was crucified. Also after just finishing reading Deuteronomy I feel like it’s almost impossible to please God but it is important to try because there are benefits in life to it. They may just be psychological but there are benefits such as the rule of law Moses hands down. When people aren’t stealing and murdering each other people feel secure so it’s no wonder why YHWH put those 2 laws into effect when he wrote the 10 commandments. Also Jesus said to his disciples to go through out the world and preach the gospel so that is why the 10 commandments apply to does who aren’t Jews or are circumcised. It’s tough reading the Bible because I used to listen to it on audiobook format and would do what I was inspired to do by it but know it is harder for me to assimilate then synthesize something fruitful with the word of God. I used to have breakthroughs like if Jesus was called straight up Emmanuel all the Jews would have accepted him as their Messiah but his name was changed to Jesus at the last second this avoiding Isaiah’s prophecy that there would be a Messiah called Emmanuel. Also that Moses never sold out his people even when it would have been convenient for him to do so.
