Compare and contrast verses 9 and 10 with Revelation 17:1-3. One of the seven angles with the seven last plagues talks to John in each instance. But, in chapter 17 John is shown the great whore and in this chapter he's shown the bride of Christ. Also, in chapter 17 he's taken away to the wilderness and here he's taken to a great and high mountain.
