In the book of Leviticus, chapters 4-7 depicts how God wanted each member of Israelite society to present sin offerings to Him in atonement for their sins. He further categorized which burnt offering (animal or grain sacrifice) was acceptable for the sin committed. Through the shedding of blood from an animal sacrifice, were the people's sins cleansed from their spirits. Thank God for Jesus' sacrifice for our sins and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Through them, forgiveness of our sins is achieved via direct communication with God (prayer) and forgiving ourselves and those who have or will transgress against us.
