Mediums are those who commune with or to "seek advice" from the spirits of the dead (Net Bible hints at "dead relatives") and familiar (demonic spirits). Necromancers/necromancy deals with any and all forms of sorcery & witchcraft, divination, communication with the dead, etc. While these two are in the same category, necromancy seems to be the more severe, more heavily involved in demonic rituals.
