For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

The power is in the Word. We use our authority to give power to our words. This is also demonstrates great faith in that the centurion did not require Jesus' physical presence for a miracle to take place. The centurion recognized that Jesus carried authority & with his authority his word had power.
