2 Samuel
Chapter 22
21
"The Lord dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he rewarded me.
22
For I have kept the ways of the Lord and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23
For all his rules were before me, and from his statutes I did not turn aside.
24
I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from guilt.
25
And the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.

As I was reading this, my son & sister, Nettie were uppermost in my mind. But when I got to this part about God delivering David "bcuz of his RIGHTIOUSNESS & his being BLAMELESS & GUILTLESS," it bothered me! Then the voice said "he was blameless bcuz he, tho human & fallible, kept to God's orders & direction & kept them first in his heart & mind! He didn't DELIBERATELY sin against God or his enemies unrighteousnessly or with anger & bitterness or retaliation.David was rewarded & delivered by God not bcuz he was SINLESS but bcuz he DIDNT TAKE MATTERS IN HIS OWN HANDS! He LET GOD handle his vengeance & destroy his enemies! He kept DEFENDING himself but walking away, not boastful/prideful, but in regret & prayer!
