Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

"They were cut to the heart". God's purpose was achieved in their hearts; The Holy Spirit had finished His work of conviction in their hearts...Now comes the choice after this conviction, which they made the right one, to follow God and have a relationship with Him
