So Ham's sin of disrespect not only harmed his relationship with his own father (possibly the rest of the family too) but also brought a curse upon his son Canaan. The 4th Commandment says: Honor your father and your mother. Matthew 5:19 "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Whether Noah decided never to become intoxicated again or not one thing is certain, Ham's actions caused way more harm than any possible good.
