Nehemiah

Chapter 13

14 Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God and for his service.

I often wonder if its selfish or egotistical to ask God to remember us for our works? The way I see what i do is that it's for His glory and to help His people. I don't do it to say "hey look at me look at me and what I did." I do it because I love Him and I want to serve Him humbly not boastfully. He loves us for us not for our works so why do we brag about what we have done? Why do we get so butt hurt when we aren't recognized for what we have done? Because we are human and we are egotistical to a point. We want to be praised and loved and we want to know that people see and appreciate what we have done. What we need to realize though, is that God does see it and love us for it.
