Showing how evil Elihu is by stating he wants Job to be punished to the fullest extent. Elihu thinks Job a great sinner. From commentary - Elihu wants Job to experience a severe punishment. That is an extremely cruel statement about Job's afflictions. Though he claimed to be Job's days-man, and said his words were going to be kind, and that he wished to justify Job, he did none of these things but did the same thing that the other three speakers had done.Elihu was long on promises and short on performance. This exposes Elihu's real intent. He was no friend of Job. He believed Job had sinned, and he wanted maximum punishment for Job.
