Then came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and ate bread with him in his house. And they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him. And each of them gave him a piece of money and a ring of gold.

These were fair weather friends, who left Job when his trials became rough. Now that Job is over his trials, they flock back. Sometimes our closest friends and relatives will be the first to forsake us in time of trouble. there actions were 1) eating in his house; show comfort to Job, which he could have used during his trials 3) gave gifts for those who had survived difficult times a custom in those days.
