3 aAnd not only this, but we also bexult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about cperseverance;

4 and aperseverance, bproven character; and proven character, hope;

5 and hope adoes not disappoint, because the love of God has been bpoured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Perseverance is a hallmark of the "Christian's" life. The "character" is representative of a Biblical Christian. And of course, hope is in God not the outcome-that will be God's choice according to His will and sovereignty.
