aThen Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all bthe heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers' households of the sons of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, cto bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from dthe city of David, which is Zion.

Now it was told King David, saying, "The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, on account of the ark of God." aDavid went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into bthe city of David with gladness.

And so it was, that when the abearers of the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed an box and a fatling.

So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

Then it happened as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David that aMichal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

So they brought in the ark of the Lord and set it ain its place inside the tent which David had pitched for it; and bDavid offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

aSo it was David, with the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from bthe house of Obed-edom with joy.

Because God was helping the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they sacrificed aseven bulls and seven rams.

Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen with all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the singing with the singers. aDavid also wore an ephod of linen.

Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the horn, with trumpets, with loud-sounding cymbals, with harps and lyres.
