5 It seems as if one had lifted up His aaxe in a forest of trees.

6 And now all its acarved work They smash with hatchet and hammers.

7 They have aburned Your sanctuary to the ground; They have bdefiled the dwelling place of Your name.

8 They asaid in their heart, "Let us completely subdue them." They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.

10 The adversary has stretched out his hand Over all her precious things, For she has seen the anations enter her sanctuary, The ones whom You commanded That they should bnot enter into Your congregation.
