38aAfter these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a bsecret one for cfear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body.

Joseph of Arimathea came, a aprominent member of the Council, who himself was bwaiting for the kingdom of God; and he cgathered up courage and went in before Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
