'He shall bring them to the priest, who shall offer first that which is for the sin offering and shall nip its head at the front of its neck, but he ashall not sever it.

'Then he shall tear it by its wings, butashall not sever it. And the priest shall offer it up in smoke on the altar on the wood which is on the fire; bit is a burnt offering, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the Lord.
