Weakness Leads To Temptation 1) I'm noticing the Jesus became tempted only after He was very hungry and probably physically exhausted from His forty day fast. 2) Jesus had no desire to prove Himself or test God. 3) The devil knows the Word and is very crafty to twist it in order to trick believers. But Christ knows the Word, is the Word, lives the Word and fights with the Word, so He ALWAYS wins. 4) The devil had to flee when Jesus stood on the Word. I must stand on it and fight with it, too. Protection, Favor & Blessing God's protection was all over Jesus' family. In this story, I can see all sorts of trickery by the wicked one, Herod. Yet, the wise men, Joseph and Mary didn't know that. All they did was trust and depend on God, abide in Him and followed the leading of the Holy Spirit.
