God called light good. No question there, BUT he did NOT necesarrily call darkness evil. he just seperated the two. Many people look at the darkness as this horrible thing. It's evil and we are only to shine the light. I disagree. I find that when I am in the darkest part of my life is when He refines me the best. Its when I am on my knees more willingly then when I am the light. Yes I still want God to use me and I want His light to shine through me, but I want to stop thinking of the darkness as bad. God knows everything we are going to do. Everything that happens is His will and by His power. Although I feel like my life is in shambles around me I have to hold on to this verse. God knows everything beforehand. Yes, I believe we all make our choices and He has given us the freedom to do so. I often wonder if its selfish or egotistical to ask God to remember us for our works? The way I see what i do is that it's for His glory and to help His people. I don't do it to say "hey look at me look at me and what I did." I do it because I love Him and I want to serve Him humbly not boastfully. He loves us for us not for our works so why do we brag about what we have done? Why do we get so butt hurt when we aren't recognized for what we have done? Because we are human and we are egotistical to a point. We want to be praised and loved and we want to know that people see and appreciate what we have done. We are always striving for riches and to get more of this or that. To be be better than the neighbors or our friends. God doesn't look at any of this though. He looks at our hearts and whether or not we have loved each other and most of all if we have loved Him. Our material things aren't going with us whether we end up in hell or heaven so why do we keep striving to have it all? We can have it all through the love of Jesus Christ. … Expand

We as follower of Christ need to stop being ashamed and scared to proclaim our faith. we need to be like this father and shout it out. We need to shout out we have faith. Faith that He will come save our world. Faith that he will heal all our hurts in His glorious timing. Faith that he will help our loved ones. This world has made following Christ unacceptable. We are not allowed to talk about Him anywhere except our homes and church. But Christ says we are not to be ashamed of Him. We build churches every where to worship the Lord and make them clean and holy but why can't we do the same for our bodies?
