Why do I go to Church? 9/15/13 Pastor Dave To Worship-Gen.22:5. Corporate worship brings Freedom! It means sacrificing what we may "see" as Worship and rising to a deeper or more radical level of Worship. God Inhabits the Praises of His people. There is an expectation that we will meet with our God. Worship is a Verb-It requires Action! Worship is Faith in Action! One of the greatest enemies of Worship is our flesh. Exodus 8:1-Here Worship means same as Serve and Work. Hebrews 12:2-Focus your attention on Jesus! God is saying to Look At Him, not our situations. He will get us through! We Worship to get our Focus Right. Expand

To be of sober mind means you are not affected by anything foreign that will disrupt proper alignment, be it natural or spiritual. 3 things we need to know about our enemy: 1. Salvation prevention. Luke 8:12 The enemy can rob us of the Word of God in our lives and try to cause us to be barren. The only Prayer that The Lord listens to from an unbeliever is that of Repentance. 2. Obstructs the sight of man. It is the desire of satan to see us walk aimlessly day after day. 3. Tries to corrupt God's Truth. This is done through personal attack from satan, but also through the mouths of ministers and teachers who leave out Truths from what they teach. 2. Expand

Control: To lead or Direct If Jesus is not in control, then satan is by default. No Gray areas when it comes to who is in control in our lives. 1John 5:19. If we don't know who is in control in our lives, we have distortion in our views. John 10:10. The thief comes to bring destruction. Knowing we have an enemy helps us to know who's in control. Daily there is a deliberate attack to see me fail. My flesh is an enemy, satan is an enemy. Simply ignoring satan and my flesh does not make it go away. The Bible says to resist satan and he will flee. We can't resist some thing we don't acknowledge. 1 Peter 5:8. A soul not hearing from the spirit is slowing dying. Spirit of God speaks to our spirit, our spirit speaks to our soul. Expand

Conflict: Must be able to exercise self control with your emotions. Past hurts/fears can rise up within present situations. You must be able to accurately hear what the other person is saying. Must have Compassion for the other person. Must be able to practice Forgiveness. Without true forgiveness conflicts go on and on. Holding onto un-forgiveness will drain us. Must be more committed to getting a resolution that you are about being right. DON'T LET YOUR EGO TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER RECONCILIATION. Expand

Forgiveness: Given Reconciliation: Earned To forgive is to release others of their wrong doings. To reconcile is when both parties surrender their anger and other issues surrounding wrong doings. Prayer is a Spirit to Spirit connection with our Father God. The Scriptures are God Inspired. The Word is Alive! The Word shows us how we should be. It's a mirror that we see ourselves in. You can rob yourself of the following with unforgiveness: 1. Spiritual growth 2. Maturity 3. Relationships Don't wait to forgive...DO IT!! Refusal to forgive brings bitterness. Depend on the Holy Spirit. I cannot do it on my own! Release it unto God. Expand

We control where we place God. Matthew 6:33 is the cure for worry free living. Proverbs 3:4-6 Proverbs 16:3 Commit=Dedicate Commit and Dedicate first your plans to The Lord, and He WILL make those plans PROSPER!! Psalm 127:1 The problem is we want God to labor in what we are building. This is the WRONG order. Isaiah 29:15 Psalm 105:4 Exodus 20:3 God will see to it that when we place Him 1st, we will receive back. If things are crumbling around you, and things are being subtracted, chances are we are not seeking God FIRST! 1 Timothy 4:8 1 Chronicles 29:12-14 Our Father God is a compensator, a grower of the seeds we plant. Philippians 4:6-7 Our Father wants us to have more than Faith in Him. He wants us to Trust in Him. Expand
