Hebrews 11:8-16 describe how the old testament saints were seeking the city. The previous few verses describe how the new testament saints were also seeking the city. We're seeking it even now. Revelation 21:10-27 describes how the city will finally arrive. … Expand

This verse mentions twelve gates to the city having the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel, from the old testament. Verse 14 below mentions twelve foundations to the city having the names of the twelve apostles, from the new testament. So, the people of the city consists of ALL of the elect regardless of when they lived, up to and including present day. … Expand

To study Bible prophesy, put Revelation first because it's not sealed. Secondly, study the epistles. Then, study the four gospels. Next, go to the old testament prophets. Finally, look at typology, or symbolism. … Expand

wrote a note on 2 Thessalonians 2:8 KJV
Two reasons why the MORTAL "man of sin" needs to be "taken out of the way" in the previous verse. 1) The Antichrist will reign over the entire world for 42 months. He needs a place to stay. 2) The whole world needs to marvel at his 'resurrection' and worship him before they'll give him absolute power. At that point, even atheists will believe him. … Expand

Two people are called the "son of perdition," Judas and the Antichrist. Satan entered Judas. Perhaps he enters the Antichrist as well. See 2 Thessalonians 2:7.

This beast is basically a world governmental system, a ruling authority. Revelation 17:9-10, "The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space." Revelation 17:12, "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast." … Expand

Adds details of what must happen before the day of the Lord: the faithful falling away and revealing the man of sin. This is contrary to the pre-tribulation rapture and/or imminent rapture. Doesn't make much sense to tell the faithful what to look for when they're not even going to be here to see it. … Expand
